Meghan Carson, CPA, CFP®
Financial Advisor
Meghan joined Alaska Wealth Advisors in a full-time capacity in 2019. She first discovered her passion for this industry during an internship a few years prior, however she took a brief hiatus to begin her career in public accounting and obtain her CPA license having just completed her accounting degree. Always hopeful she would end up back at Alaska Wealth Advisors, Meghan was thrilled when the opportunity arose to re-join the team as a financial advisor. With her CPA license and accounting background, Meghan brings in-depth tax planning knowledge and perspective to address our clients’ unique and often complex financial planning goals and needs. Meghan is passionate about empowering and educating our clients as they move through various milestones and life stages. She loves that she gets to both dive deep into advanced planning strategies and sit across the table from our clients – learning about their background, passions, goals and forging lasting relationships.
Meghan was born and raised in Alaska and holds immense pride for this state. She rarely passes up an opportunity to head south to fish on the Kenai, and fills other free time with camping trips, cooking, and dog park excursions with her chocolate lab, Lina. In the community, Meghan serves as treasurer and board member of the Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis (AWAIC) shelter and as a board member for the AWAIC Foundation, Inc. She was part of the most recent class to complete the Alaska Society of CPAs Leadership Academy and plans to join the Society’s Financial Literacy committee. She also recently began teaching at her alma mater, the University of Alaska Anchorage, as an adjunct professor of accounting.
