My name is Travis Gularte and I am a lifelong Alaskan. Born and raised in Anchorage I come from a long line of proud Alaska Natives including Elizabeth Peratrovich who is credited with passing Alaska’s Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945, the first anti-discrimination law in the United States. I have 3 beautiful children who keep me busy and always on my toes. My wife Serena is from Homer, Alaska and she is currently working as an attorney at the IBEW. Serena and I graduated from Robert Service High School together in 1994.
Growing up here in Alaska I of course found a deep love for winter sports including hockey and downhill skiing. After graduating from Service, I enlisted in the United States Army and spent 4 years as an artilleryman stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and other places around the world. I transitioned from military life back to civilian life here in Anchorage and began working part time and going to school for my degree in Business Finance at UAA. Upon completion of my degree I started my career in the financial services industry working for a nationwide bank here in Alaska serving smaller communities such as Ketchikan, Juneau and Kenai. Later I became a licensed brokerage associate with the same firm and moved to the wealth management group. Further pursing my passion in the investment world, I accepted a position as a Financial Consultant at Charles Schwab here in Anchorage. It was during my time at Schwab I was introduced to Laura and Cathie at APCM. I partnered closely together with Laura and Cathie providing my Schwab clients with the financial planning and investment guidance they needed by APCM. After experiencing the level of service APCM provides the Alaska community I knew I would be lucky to make my next career move working with APCM.
I love to stay active in the community volunteering for Junior Achievement and teaching finance to local schools. I am in my 15th year coaching youth hockey and 5th year coaching little league baseball. I also know being a good Alaskan means enjoying the great outdoors including hiking, fishing and whatever else Alaska has to offer. I am excited to be part of such a knowledgeable, experienced and trusted group of professionals here at APCM. I look forward to meeting you soon!
