Born in Vietnam to an Italian American father and a Vietnamese Chinese mother, my family and I were always on the move. My father and I eventually moved back to the US, and he finally decided to retire in the Last Frontier. While I didn’t stay in any one location during my childhood years long enough to count as my hometown, I can safely say that my time spent in Alaska has cemented it as my home.
I am currently finishing up my last semesters at the University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA) in pursuit of my Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics. I served in the student government in various positions, including student body president, and as the Secretary-General of the Model United Nations of Alaska from 2019-2022. And in my spare time, I have found great passion in giving back to the community through my volunteer and youth advocacy work with different Anchorage organizations. I have attended and presented at various conferences across the country and internationally including in Ireland and Sweden. I have also had a variety of jobs that helped me build client service skills, including my most recent role as a Registered Wealth Management Client Associate at another financial firm. Through these experiences, I have come to value working with diverse individuals and honed my desire to help others. It comes as no surprise of course that this translates well into the role of being a financial advisor and I’m thankful to find the team at AWMI.
In the last few years, I have taken the time to immerse myself in outdoor activities and the Alaskan lifestyle. I’ve fished for reds in the Kenai, hauled in halibut off Seldovia, and hiked on the endless number of trails around Southcentral Alaska. I’ve also learned to downhill ski and mountain bike. While those activities don’t seem to love me, as evidenced by the several injuries and broken wrist I’ve received, I certainly do love them. It has made me realize the uniqueness of our state and the people who call Alaska home.
