For the second year in a row, we are delighted to be the key sponsor for the Alaska Botanical Garden’s annual Gala. This year’s theme “Peonies & Poppies” highlights the garden’s collections of over 100 varieties of Peony, as well as ten species of Blue Poppy.
Since the grand opening in 1993, the Alaska Botanical Garden (ABG) has been a peaceful oasis for the community to gather, learn and be inspired. The Garden consists of 110 acres of boreal forest with approximately 8 acres of cultivated gardens and interconnecting nature trails. ABG is active all year long with walks, workshops, day camps, plant sales and the new Holiday Lights, their most recent popular winter activity.
In March, the APCM Wealth Management for Individuals team spent a morning with Dr. Marilyn Baker for the Winter Plant Identification Class. We trekked around in the snow learning a variety of things like: why is it so difficult to identity white versus black spruce in southcentral Alaska; or what is that red stuff on the birch trees? (algae!). We believe the Gardens are a true asset to our community. As we support making your money grow, we also like to see our gardens grow. All in support of our overall well-being and heath.
